Thanks for taking the time to recognize a newcomer/ immigrant person in your community.  The Greater Moncton Local immigration Partnership would like to recognize immigrants who have made significant contributions to the Greater Moncton community and reflect what newcomers/immigrants can achieve from settlement to establishing their lives in our community.

Nomination Category Definitions

  1. Youth Leadership and Teamwork – awarded to a person who shows consistent strong, positive leadership skills, and works well with others by demonstrating patience, good listening skills and respect 
  2. Creative Achievement and Innovation – awarded to a person who can demonstrate innovation or creative expression and original ideas in the arts.
  3. Community First – awarded to a person who demonstrates an outstanding level of involvement in the local community 
  4. Courage in Adversity – awarded to a person who has courageously tackled and conquered difficult situations
  5. Careers – awarded to a person who goes out of their way help out and take care of family members and/or others in their community 

Please note: the Selection Panel will consider nominations according to the following criteria:  

  • Consistency: The extent to which behaviors have occurred consistently, over a period of time. 
  • Application to wider community: The extent to which the person has successfully encouraged or inspired others in his/her community (e.g. family, friends, peer group, other community members) to engage in similar behaviors. 
  • Sign of effort: The extent to which these behaviors have been a challenge for the person, they have had to change previous behaviors, and they have persevered.
  • Positive impact: The extent to which the behaviors have resulted in a positive impact and change in the person and the people around them.  

Successful nominees will be contacted directly. Their success stories will be shared through the Greater Moncton Local immigration Partnership Facebook Page.
