Regular Public Council Presentation

Welcome to Moncton City Council!

Moncton City Council meets in Public Session on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of most months except in July and August when they meet on the 3rd Mondays only.

Meetings commence at 5 pm except in the months of June, July and August when they start at 4 p.m.

If you plan on making a presentation to City Council, please consider the following:

  • Please advise the City Clerk’s office as to the names of presenters and provide an overview of your subject.
  • If you are presenting a petition or are a large group, indicate the name of your spokesperson.
  • Please check in at the entrance to the Council Chambers when you arrive
  • Public Presentations are limited to 5 minutes and take place at the beginning of the meeting.
  • Meetings are televised in English and French on Rogers Cable, channels 9 and 10, and are live-streamed to the internet at on www.moncton.ca or www.rogerstv.com. All meetings are simultaneously translated.
  • Presenters may enhance their talk using power point or other electronic formats. We suggest nothing smaller than 26 point for text and it seems that Arial is one of the clearest fonts. As the Council Chambers has a 80” television to project your presentation, we would ask that you utilize the on-screen show (16:9) found under the Design tab of Power Point.
  • Please provide the City Clerk’s Office with your presentation on the Friday preceding the meeting so that it may be loaded into our system. We may not be able to accommodate you if you arrive at the meeting with a presentation.
  • No presenter shall speak disrespectfully of council, staff or a member of the general public. The use of offensive or profane language will not be tolerated. Any breach of this guideline may result in the presenter being asked to leave the Council Chambers at the discretion of the chair.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Clerk’s Office at 856-3550.

Thank you – Moncton City Council looks forward to meeting you.

Barbara Quigley
City Clerk/ Director of Legislative Support
