Councillor Shawn Crossman

Shawn is serving his second term as councillor for Ward 1, having been recently re-elected in May 2016. He brings more than 17 years of sales and marketing experience to his role on Council. 

During his tenure as city councillor, Shawn has been and continues to be an active member of the Canadian Federation of Municipalities (FCM). In previous years, Shawn has served on the Standing Committee on International Relations, the Standing Committee on Environmental Issues and Sustainable Development as well as on the FCM Atlantic Caucus.  

Shawn is also an active member on a number of City of Moncton committees and boards. He previously co-chaired the Operations Committee, and has served on the Public Safety Advisory Committee, the Tri-Community RCMP Volunteer Policing Services Board and the Service Excellence Oversight Committee. 

Councillor Crossman was elected Deputy Mayor in 2014 and 2015 and was also elected 1st Vice President of the Cities of New Brunswick Association in 2015.

Shawn’s community advocacy includes volunteering with Lewisville Minor Hockey, the Crossman Community Centre/Kay Arena Committee, St. Bernard’s Church and with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Moncton. 

Shawn is the proud father of Isabelle. He is a graduate of Moncton High School and hails from a political family. His late father, Norm Crossman, was also councillor for Ward 1. When he is not serving his constituents, Shawn enjoys being outdoors where he likes to golf and camp.
