2015 Art Gallery Tours: Saturday, September 26

September 16, 2015

MONCTON – The City of Moncton is pleased to offer its annual Art Gallery Tours on Saturday, September 26, from noon to 5 p.m. Everyone will get a chance to immerse themselves into the local artistic community, free of charge, during this annual self-guided, animated and interactive tour.

The 2015 Gallery Tour is presented in celebration of Culture Days, a collaborative pan-Canadian volunteer movement to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities.

“This tour highlights the existing visual artistic community in our region and gives a chance for our residents to get a true glimpse into what our cultural community is all about,” said Paulette Thériault, Moncton City Councilor and member of Moncton’s Cultural Board.  “The arts can have a lasting impact on one’s life and we wish to expose local artists and the creative process to everyone, young and old.”

During the tour, local galleries will greet and welcome the public into their spaces. The program will include interpretations of galleries’ current exhibits, ‘meet the artist’ events, live art demonstrations, a chance for the public to try a painting technique, and more.
