Acoustica welcomes Jim Blewett and the Swinging Cats, Miroir, Reforme, and Emilie Rae

July 28, 2014

MONCTON - This week Acoustica presents Jim Blewett and the Swinging Cats, Accros de la chanson finalists: Miroir and Reforme, and Emilie Rae!

Jim Blewett and the Swinging Cats is a group of four friends that enjoy playing music that makes you move and swing. Their repertoire originates with some flavour of the Isaac and Blewett days, combined with Jim’s interest in European Gypsy Jazz. Come and join the fun at Victoria Park this Tuesday, July 29, from 7 to 8 p.m.!

Grand prize winners in the Accros de la chanson group category, Miroir is a family duo for whom authenticity is everything. After getting their start performing for family and the church community, Jonathan Dumas (guitar, vocals) and Anne Dumas (cello, vocals) draw their inspiration from folk and classical music to create thoughtful acoustic melodies, conveying a message of hope through clear harmonies executed with skill and simplicity.

Sasha Light (guitar, vocals), Chris Doiron (bass), Patrick Martin (guitar) and Alec Victor (drums) are from Dieppe and have been playing together for two years. Their energetic rock band, Reforme, shifts effortlessly from punk to alternative and love to innovate and have fun. The guys are easy going and their dynamism on stage takes the audience away from the cares of everyday life. Bring your lunch and enjoy some great entertainment from both Accros de la chanson finalists at City Hall Plaza from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 31.

Emilie Rae is a Moncton singer-songwriter who is ready to take it to the next level. The recording artist has shared many Metro Moncton stages in recent months with some of the area’s most notable performers including Stephen LeBlanc, Norm the Jammer and Shaun LeBlanc. For Emilie Rae, who dreams of singing on some of the world’s biggest stages, the sky’s the limit. Come out this Thursday, July 31, from 7 to 8 pm at City Hall Plaza and enjoy the evening’s performance by Emilie Rae!

The City of Moncton’s outdoor Acoustica concert series is presented by Caisse populaire Beauséjour, C103 and supported by partner Pepsi.

All concerts are free of charge. Seating will be available on site.
