Acoustica welcomes RCMP Pipes & Drums, Cy and Jared Lutes

August 18, 2014

MONCTON - This week Acoustica closes the summer performances with the RCMP Pipes & Drums, Cy and Jared Lutes!

The RCMP Pipes & Drums performs in communities throughout New Brunswick and combining with other RCMP bands performs further from home in national and even international events. The band formed in 1998 and serves as a musical good will ambassador on behalf of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Musicians in the band cover a wide range of ages and backgrounds, but come together with a common purpose: to share and showcase their musical talent and perform for the communities they serve. Come and join the fun at Victoria Park this Tuesday, as the RCMP Pipes and Drums are joined with the Codiac Concert Band for a special one and a half-hour performance on August 19 starting at 7 p.m.!

Since September 2013, Cy, formed by Jacques Blinn, Jacques Boudreau, Guyaume Boulianne and Éric Dow, has been mixing harmonies and guitar strings to create great music. With three guitars and four voices, this Moncton band goes on the road to promote their compositions at a brisk pace, driven by the sea. Bring your lunch and enjoy some great entertainment from Cy at City Hall Plaza beginning at noon on Thursday, August 21.

The 34-year-old full-time live entertainer is the father of two small children and husband to teacher and part time singer, Marie-Josée Poitras. Jared Lutes performs more than 100 times a year throughout the Maritimes. He has been personally featured several times on CBC Radio, enjoyed showcases at the ECMAs, and has performed on the TV program, Breakfast Television. Come out this Thursday, August 21, at 7 p.m. at City Hall Plaza and enjoy the evening’s performance by Jared Lutes!

The City of Moncton’s outdoor Acoustica concert series is presented by Caisse populaire Beauséjour, C103 and supported by partner Pepsi.

All concerts are free of charge. Seating will be available on site.
