Boil Water Advisory Rescinded

January 13, 2017

MONCTON – The City of Moncton wishes to advise customers that water in the affected area (see map) is now safe to consume. Water testing results have been reviewed with the Department of Health, and the boil water advisory had been rescinded effective immediately.

What should you do?

  • If you have been home over the past few days, you have been using the tap water for activities like washing dishes and laundry.  You do not need to do anything else, as these activities would have brought fresh water into your plumbing system.
  • If you have been away, take a few minutes to flush out the water in your plumbing.  This can be done by simply turning on each of the taps in your house for a few minutes.  This will remove water that has been sitting in your pipes while you were away and will draw fresh water into your home.

The City of Moncton wishes to thank residents for their patience, cooperation, and support during this situation and apologizes for the inconvenience it caused.
