August 15, 2014

MONCTON – The City of Moncton, in partnership with Consolvo Bike Shop, invites residents to the CN Sportplexe Bike Park grand opening and BMX Jam on Tuesday, August 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Local BMX rider Jeremy Gallant will be on hand to show off his skills and there will be prizes to be won, including a new BMX bike, to anyone who comes and rides their bike at the new park. A barbecue will also be held during the event.

“This new bike park is a wonderful addition to the recreational landscape of Moncton,” said Rod Higgins, General Manager of Parks and Leisure Serivces for the City of Moncton. “The bike park is a great amenity for not only the local biking community, but anyone interested in taking up the sport of BMX.”

The CN Sportplexe Bike Park is located at 55 Russ Howard Drive, adjacent from the Redball Internet Centre. In case of rain, the grand opening event will be held on Wednesday, August 20.

This bike park is part of the multi-year implementation of the City of Moncton’s Recreation Master Plan.
