Celebrate New Brunswick Day with Flames of War – Sound and light show at Centennial Park!

August 1st, 2013

MONCTON - Parks Canada in partnership with Resurgo Place/City of Moncton are presenting the multi-media event Flames of War on Monday, August 5th, 2013 in the main parking lot of Centennial Park (near the playground).  The presentation starts at 9 p.m. and runs about 45 minutes.  The event is free to the public and is suitable for all ages. The public is invited to bring a chair or blanket.

Flames of War is a new and unique bilingual outdoor video production interpreting the
War of 1812 through a fusion of dramatic vignettes, music and imagery.  It focuses on the major battlefield of the war – Niagara – and the crucial role played by Native nations. Flames of War will be projected on a giant screen located in Centennial Park.

It is a story of survival, loss, heroics and victories, set against a backdrop of fire, water and stolen land.  Significantly, it captures the crucial role played by Native Nations and how their alliance directly affected the outcome of the war, resulting in the Canada we know today.
