City of Moncton and Moncton Miracles sign a new contract

October 6, 2014

MONCTON – The City of Moncton and the Moncton Miracles have reached a new lease agreement that will run through to 2017.  City Council ratified the agreement during today’s regular public meeting.  The Miracles and Moncton City Council have been working hard to lay the groundwork for the current contract.

“We are very pleased to have reached an agreement with the Miracles organization. This new contract enables us to continue the partnership we have developed with the team.” said Moncton Mayor George LeBlanc. “In three short years, the Miracles have become a strong franchise in the National Basketball League of Canada and have become a mainstay in our community.”

“The Moncton Miracles organization is committed to being a successful franchise. I believe in the National Basketball League of Canada and I am committed to putting a winning team on the court. Moncton is a great city and this new lease agreement is a sign that professional basketball in Moncton is alive and well.” stated Kim Blanco, owner of the Moncton Miracles.

The Miracles will face the Saint John Mill Rats in their 2014-15 season opener on November 1, 2014.
