City of Moncton and Moncton Wildcats sign a new contract

November 18, 2013

MONCTON – The City of Moncton and the Moncton Wildcats have reached a new contract agreement that will run through to 2016.  City Council ratified the agreement during today’s regular public meeting.  The Wildcats and Moncton City Council have been working hard over the past several months to lay the groundwork for years to come.

“We are very pleased to have reached an agreement. This new contract enables us to continue the longstanding partnership we have developed with the Wildcats.” said Moncton Mayor George LeBlanc. “The Wildcats have become an important asset in our community and the team is one of the best franchise operations in the QMJHL. Today, we begin a new chapter and look forward to a continued partnership with the Wildcats. I am happy to say that our residents will continue to enjoy some of the best Major Junior hockey action in Canada.” added Mayor LeBlanc.
