August 17, 2016

MONCTON – The City of Moncton is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Robichaud, LL.B., as the General Manager of Legal and Legislative Services, by Moncton City Council, following the retirement of long-time City Solicitor Stephen Trueman.  Mr. Robichaud has been with the City since 2010 in various positions, is bilingual, and was recently appointed Chair of the Municipal Law section of the Canadian Bar Association – New Brunswick Branch (effective September 1, 2016).

“The role of City Solicitor, as a key member of the City’s Strategic Management Group, is essential to the municipality’s daily operations, and I extend my congratulations to Mr. Robichaud for being the successful candidate for this position,” said Mayor Dawn Arnold.

“Mr. Robichaud has demonstrated his skills and abilities in regard to municipal law and administration over his time with the City of Moncton, and he is a welcome addition to our organization’s Senior Management team,” stated Don MacLellan, Acting City Manager.

Mr. Robichaud’s appointment follows an external regional search conducted by the City’s Human Resources department, and requires the approval of Council due to the leadership nature of the position.
