City support of the RCMP regimental funeral

MONCTON ¬– The City of Moncton wishes to provide its residents with further details on the various logistics relating to the RCMP regimental funeral, scheduled to take place on Tuesday, June 10, at 1 p.m. at the Coliseum.

ROAD CLOSURES
In order to accommodate the traffic expected in the Coliseum zone, the following road closures will occur:

  1. Access to the Coliseum parking lot will be restricted from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10.
  2. Killam Drive, between Worthington Avenue and Ayer Avenue, will be closed to all through traffic from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10.
  3. Russ Howard Drive will be closed to all through traffic, between the Collishaw roundabout and Millennium Blvd, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10.
  4. Millennium Blvd will be closed to all through traffic, between Pacific Street and Killam Drive, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10.

CODIAC TRANSPO
In order to properly support the RCMP on Tuesday, June 10, regular transit service is suspended for the entire day. Codiac Transpo apologizes for any inconvenience and appreciates customers’ understanding.

PUBLIC ATTENDANCE AT THE FUNERAL
Our city will be welcoming thousands of uniformed officers to support our Codiac RCMP. Due to the limited number of seats available at the Coliseum for the public, the City has requested the collaboration of several partners to provide remote sites (free of charge) to gather as a community in mourning. To date, the following locations are confirmed:

  • Moncton City Hall Lobby (655 Main St., Moncton) *In French
  • Capitol Theatre, 780 seats (811 Main St., Moncton) *In English
  • Casino New Brunswick (21 Casino Drive, Moncton) *In English
  • Université de Moncton (Jeanne-de-Valois Building) *In French
  • Dieppe Arts and Cultural Centre, 225 seats (331 Acadie Avenue, Dieppe) *In French
  • Arthur-J.-LeBlanc Centre (432 Melanson Road, Dieppe) *In French
  • Cineplex Trinity (127 Trinity Drive, Moncton) *In English
  • Cineplex Dieppe (499 Paul Street, Dieppe) *In English
  • Community Peace Centre (150 Queen St., Moncton) *In English
  • Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 500 seats (5 Fatima Dr., Riverview) *In English
  • Wesleyan Celebration Centre, 1820 seats (954 St. George Blvd, Moncton) *In English

At each location, doors will open at noon. As other sites are confirmed, they will be advertised on the City of Moncton’s social media pages (Facebook and Twitter).
