Clear and green transparent bags can be used for leaves

October 15, 2013
MONCTON – In light of RecycleSENB’s new education program on separating household waste for disposal, the City of Moncton would like to clarify that leaves placed in either green or clear transparent bags will be picked-up throughout the fall season.

A separate dedicated truck may pick-up larger piles of leaves causing a slight time lag between the regular waste collection and the leaf collection.
All other yard waste such as grass clippings and twigs must be placed in a green transparent bag. Black or opaque color plastic bags (green, orange, brown, etc.) should never be used to bag any waste and will not be accepted.
Branches can be disposed of without using a plastic bag. They must be placed at the curbside in a bundle no larger than 60 cm long, and 60 cm wide (two feet long, and two feet wide).
Large Waste
From Wednesday, October 16 to Friday, October 18 (4:30 p.m.-8 p.m.) and on Saturday, October 19 (8 a.m.-3 p.m.), large waste not suitable for your Green or Blue bags, such as household appliances, furniture, tires and large electronics, may be dropped off, free of charge (to a limit of one-half ton), at RecycleSENB's landfill location (formally known as the Westmorland-Albert Solid Waste Corporation), on Berry Mills Road.
If you require further information about the Mandatory Waste Separation Program, refer to RecycleSENB at 877-1040 or www.recyclesenb.com or the City of Moncton (859-2643 / www.moncton.ca).

The City of Moncton appreciates the cooperation of residents in respecting waste collection procedures.
