Construction of Park on East Street

May 9, 2013

MONCTON – The City of Moncton would like to advise the public of construction along East Street and Wortman Drive between Landry Street and Shepody Street beginning today to allow for the construction of a new park.

The new community park will contain new play equipment, a swing set, park benches as well as a trail connecting East Street to Wortman Drive. Duration of the construction is expected to be two months.

The City regrets any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates your patience during construction of the new park for the community.

This project is part of the overall Recreation Master Plan which was approved by Moncton City Council in 2010. The goal of the multi-year plan is to provide every community with public green space within five minutes walking distance of their front door.

For more information, please contact the City of Moncton’s Parks and Leisure Services department at 853-3516.
