Gold: A Nova Scotia Treasure – a new exhibit on display at Resurgo Place!

September 30, 2014

MONCTON – Resurgo Place is pleased to host Gold: A Nova Scotia Treasure, a new bilingual exhibit that will be on display until January 4, 2015. The exhibit is presented by the Province of Nova Scotia through a partnership of the Museum of Industry and the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. Access to the exhibit is included with the cost of admission.

Gold wiggled its way into Nova Scotia about 500 million years ago and has continued to shape the landscape and lives of Nova Scotians ever since.  Everyone is welcome to explore and discover the exhibit about the soft, shiny metal that has inspired Nova Scotia’s art, influenced its culture and shaped its history.

Adding a local connection, artefacts from the Moncton Museum’s collection are also part of the exhibit, displaying Joseph Salter’s work with the gold mine in Waverley, Nova Scotia.

Hours of operations are Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 12-5 p.m.

For more information, please contact Resurgo Place (home of the Moncton Museum and the Transportation Discovery Centre) at 506-856-4383. Resurgo Place is located at 20 Mountain Road in Moncton.
