INVITATION: Public consultation for Downtown Centre Plaza Public Art

September 6, 2017

MONCTON – The City of Moncton would like to invite the public to a consultation session regarding the public art component of the Downtown Centre plaza on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 5 p.m. in the lobby of Moncton City Hall, 655 Main Street.

The retained short listed artists are:
- Luc A. Charette (NB)
- Guylaine Cyr (NB)
- André Lapointe (NB)
- Peter Powning (NB)

During the session, all four finalists will present their proposed concept for the permanent public art piece. One project will be selected to be produced and installed in the exterior plaza of the Downtown Centre.

The project is created and funded under the Percent for Public Art Policy. The amount allocated represents 1% of the City’s contribution to the total budgeted non-land costs of the Downtown Centre, to a maximum of $200,000. A selection committee will forward its recommendation to Moncton City Council for final approval.

The completed artwork will be unveiled in the fall 2018.
