Join the Wellness Week Movement

MONCTON – The City of Moncton is asking everyone to join the wellness movement!  October 1-7 is New Brunswick Wellness Week and presents the perfect opportunity for Monctonians to get out and get active.

Free activities are offered throughout Wellness Week at the YMCA of Greater Moncton, the Superior Propane Centre, the Crossman Community Centre/Kay Arena and at Irishtown Nature Park. 

The following free activities are scheduled here in Moncton:

October 1
How Nature prepares for winter 
Presentation and walk at Irishtown Nature Park  
1:30 p.m. – Presentation - Tankville School
Join Dr. Alyre Chiasson for a visual presentation on how the seasons affect the lives of the plants and the animals in the park.
2:15 – 2:45 p.m. - Guided walk 

October 2 
Swimming 
YMCA Greater Moncton – 30 War Veterans Avenue 
2:30 – 4:30 p.m.

October 3 
Open Gym 
Crossman Community Centre / Kay Arena – 99 Wynwood Drive 
10 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.  
Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guarding 

October 4
Go for a run or walk 
Crossman Community Centre / Kay Arena – 99 Wynwood Drive
Track open daily – check schedule at moncton.ca

October 5
Go for a bike ride 
Mapleton Park – 600 Mapleton Road 

October 6 
Public Skating – Helmet mandatory 
Superior Propane Centre – 55 Russ Howard Drive
5:30 – 7 p.m.

October 7 
Visit one of our many playgrounds in the city.  The playground locator map can be found at moncton.ca

There are also a variety of ways of being active year round by taking advantage of the city’s numerous facilities, trails, green spaces and parks.
