Moncton125 celebrations – featuring Canadian rockers Simple Plan!

April 2, 2015

MONCTON – Moncton is 125 years young! Residents and visitors are invited to celebrate the occasion during the Moncton125 Festival, which will take place from Thursday, April 23 to Sunday, April 26. During the event, our community will also host the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015TM Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola and, as part of the Trophy Tour, Canadian rockers Simple Plan will headline the Moncton125 “birthday” concert on Friday, April 24 at Riverfront Park. The group will be joined by special guest Andee (Andrée-Anne Leclerc), and well-known local musicians Chris Colepaugh, Caroline Savoie and Izzy and the Prohibition, who will perform before fireworks shine brightly above the Petitcodiac River.

“Moncton has built a reputation on fantastic events for the entire family, and the Moncton125 Festival is no exception,” said Mayor George LeBlanc. “The four day celebration will feature a wide range of cultural, entertaining and active living activities for all residents, and many community partners have offered Festival programming to make this a truly memorable Moncton event.”

All Moncton 125 activities are free of charge, unless otherwise indicated. Donations to the Food Depot Alimentaire will be accepted at many Moncton 125 events.
