Moncton Fire Department hosts Launch of Alarm & Ready Campaign

September 14, 2016

MONCTON – The Moncton Fire Department is pleased to be hosting the 2nd Annual launch of the Provincial Alarm & Ready Campaign on Thursday, September 15 at 1:30 p.m. The event will take place at the fire departments newest station, located at 80 Caledonia Road.

The Office of the Fire Marshal is partnering with several manufacturers and agencies to officially launch the campaign. It is a known fact that smoke alarms save lives. Each year, there are over 250 deaths in Canada as the result of residential fires. Most of these could have been prevented with working smoke alarms.

The collaboration will see firefighters from across the province visiting homes in their respective communities, inspecting them for working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and providing free alarms, batteries, and safety information to individuals who need them.

Residents are invited to this information session to learn more about how to stay safe from the dangers of fire and carbon monoxide poisoning.
