Moncton firefighters support breast cancer research

October 1, 2015

MONCTON – October is well-known as breast cancer awareness month, and Moncton firefighters, members of IAAF Local 999 (International Association of Fire Fighters), will be showing their support by wearing and selling pink uniform shirts, as well as doing “boot drives” (donations will be collected in firefighter boots), in support of breast cancer research.

Firefighters will volunteer on the following dates to raise funds:

  • Saturday, October 3 (12 p.m. to 3 p.m.), at the Sobeys store on Vaughan Harvey Blvd.
  • Saturday, October 17 (12 p.m. to 3 p.m.), at the Sobeys store on Mountain Road
  • Saturday, October 24 (12 p.m. to 3 p.m.), at the Sobeys store on Elmwood Drive

The pink shirts will also be available for sale to the public at a cost of $20 each, while supplies last.
