Moncton's FanZone in celebration of the FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015™

FIFA Host City (An)

The fun begins with the official ‘kick-off to the kick-off’ from June 5 to June 7!

MONCTON – Moncton is thrilled to host Moncton FanZone festivities in celebration of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™ this June. The FanZone will offer a family-friendly program on the tournament’s opening weekend to kick-off this premier, international women’s sporting competition.

Riverfront Park, located by the Petitcodiac River in the heart of downtown Moncton, will be the hub of excitement leading up to the first FIFA match to be held at the Moncton Stadium on June 9. Locals and visitors are invited to participate in the official FanZone activities, which will run from Friday, June 5 to Sunday, June 7 as Moncton welcomes the world.

The FanZone’s program will see the free, public outdoor broadcasting of FIFA matches being played in other Canadian host cities, including the tournament’s opening match featuring Canada against China. FanZone will also feature local and kids’ entertainment throughout the weekend, a Kids’ Play Zone with games and workshops, a soccer mini-pitch, a licensed area for adults to enjoy during the matches, and more. In addition to this fun-filled weekend, there will be a special FIFA fireworks presentation on Friday, June 5. FanZone event-goers are invited to bring their lawn chairs to watch the matches on the big screen; however, some seating will be provided.

FanZone guests will also have the chance to purchase tickets to Moncton World Cup matches on site (in addition to being able to purchase tickets at the Box Office at the Moncton Stadium on Université de Moncton campus as of May 30).

FanZone is presented by the City of Moncton and supported by partners MAGMA, Resurgo Place, the Greater Moncton Chinese Cultural Association, as well as the international student associations of the Université de Moncton and local community college.
