July 31, 2014

MONCTON – The City of Moncton is pleased to announce that this year’s MotoMoncton event is changing locations! Taking advantage of the recent success following this year’s Canada Day and Rotary Ribfest events, the MotoMoncton organizing committee is thrilled to be hosting the downtown events at the Riverfront Parking lot and on Assomption Boulevard.

The weekend full of motorcycle madness begins Thursday, August 7 with a HOG Welcome BBQ at Toys for Big Boys on Salisbury Road and concludes with a closing Ride at 11 a.m. on Sunday, August 10, departing from War Veteran’s Avenue.

While events and rides will be taking place at various sites, the Riverfront location will host activities for bikers and the general public to enjoy, including free live entertainment, vendors, a burnout competition and more. Events on the riverfront open at noon on Friday, with live entertainment on the main stage from 7 p.m. until midnight. On Saturday, events open at 10 a.m. with live entertainment from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Friday’s performers include:
Old School, Hub City Funk, the John Boulay Blues Quartet and Theresa Melanfant

Saturday’s performers include:
Mud River Rockers, Mel & Tina and the Jared Lutes Band, Ginger Kings, Joey Robin Haché et les Tavernaks, Todd Geldart and Chris Colepaugh and the Cosmic Crew

For those 19+, there will be a beer garden near the stage on Friday from 7 to 11 p.m. and on Saturday from 4 to 11 p.m.

Bikers are welcome to park their motorcycles for free on Assomption Boulevard in the Biker Zone from 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday, August 8 and Saturday, August 9.
