MONCTON – The National Volunteer Programme for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™ and the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014 has been launched and the City of Moncton is encouraging those interested to submit their name to volunteer for the upcoming tournaments.

Hundreds of volunteers will be required to host the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014 competition taking place between August 5th and August 24th, 2014.  The FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™ will need hundreds more to help ensure Canada delivers the most successful FIFA Women’s World Cup™ ever from June 5th to July 6th, 2015.

“Monctonians are renowned for giving their time to help their community, proven by the thousands of volunteers that have helped over the years for the many other major events that we have had the privilege to host,” said Moncton Mayor George LeBlanc. “I know that for 2014 and 2015, Monctonians will once again roll up their sleeves and help make the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014 and the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™ the best events to ever come to Moncton.”

“As part of the team helping to deliver these two world-class competitions, volunteers will play an important role in establishing a meaningful legacy for sport and women’s soccer in Moncton,” said Victor Montagliani, Chairman of the National Organising Committee for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™ and the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014.  “It would be impossible to stage this event without the effort and passion of everyone in the Atlantic who is committed to volunteering.”

Volunteers are encouraged to apply to become a part of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Canada 2014 and the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™.  The FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Canada 2014 is a critical lead-in event to the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™.  Those who volunteer in 2014 will help ensure a high level of excellence by developing into volunteer leaders and creating momentum for the larger event taking place the following year.
