New solar panel powered advertising transit shelters on Plaza Boulevard

December 7, 2016

MONCTON – In a first for Moncton, Codiac Transpo’s new laybys located on Plaza Boulevard will feature solar powered advertising transit shelters.

The shelters were provided by Daytech Limited, a Toronto based manufacturer of transit shelters and advertising signage.

“Daytech Limited is proud to partner with Codiac Transpo to offer customers the most advanced solar powered product in the North American transit industry,” says Dion McGuire, President of Daytech Limited.

“These new shelters are eco-friendly and also offer a financial savings to the City,” says Marie-Claire Pierce, Senior Transit Planner for Codiac Transpo.

The solar powered transit shelters will be lit from dusk to dawn, 365 days a year with an LED lighting system to last for 50,000 hours.
