Organizations invited to participate in Fall/Winter Registration Event

July 26, 2013

MONCTON – The City of Moncton is inviting local sports, recreation and cultural organizations to participate in the upcoming joint Fall/Winter registration event, to take place at the Crossman Community Centre-Kay Arena in September.

“This event is a great opportunity to showcase what local organizations offer to the community, as well as allow these groups to reduce the time required by their volunteers in organizing their own registration session. They will also be featured in our advertising campaign”, explains Joanne Lamarche, the City of Moncton’s Community Development Officer for Sports, Recreation and Active Living.

Organizations must register by Wednesday, August 14th, and can do so online at moncton.ca or by calling the City of Moncton’s Parks and Leisure Services department at 383-6223.

The joint registration will be held on Friday, September 13th from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, September 14th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be NO cost to organizations who register. Organizations are asked to set up prior to the event and ensure that they have someone accepting the registrations. In exchange, the City’s Parks and Leisure Services Department will provide each group registered with space at the Crossman Community Centre/Kay Arena, tables and chairs, advertising along with appropriate signage for each booth.

By hosting this “one-stop shopping” event, the City of Moncton aims to promote the community’s many sports, recreation and cultural organizations, as well support and encourage active living for residents of all ages and abilities.
