RBC Sports Day in Canada moves Moncton residents

City of Moncton and the Université de Moncton partner up to take part in fourth annual RBC Sports Day in Canada

MONCTON – To mark this year’s RBC Sports Day in Canada, the City of Moncton and the Université de Moncton are teaming up to offer a number of free activities for the general public at the Université de Moncton campus from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 30th.

RBC Sports Day in Canada is a national celebration of sport, from grassroots to high-performance levels, in communities across Canada. It demonstrates that sport has the power to build community, fortify national spirit and promote healthy, active living.

The following free activities are scheduled in Moncton throughout RBC Sports Day in Canada:

Skating
Public skate with the Université de Moncton women’s hockey team
11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. – J. Louis Lévesque Arena

Swimming
1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. – CEPS Louis J. Robichaud

Volleyball
Learn volleyball with the Université de Moncton women’s volleyball team
1 p.m. - 2 p.m. (ages 12-14 years old) – CEPS Gymnasium
2:30 p.m. - 4 p.m. (ages 15+ years old) – CEPS Gymnasium

Racquetball
Lessons and equipment available
1 p.m. - 4 p.m. (ages 12+ years old) – CEPS Racquetball Courts

Track and Field
Learn athletics with the Université de Moncton track and field team
1 p.m. - 4 p.m. (ages 12+ years old) – CEPS Vance-Toner Field House

Soccer
Learn soccer with the Université de Moncton men’s and women’s soccer teams
1 p.m. - 4 p.m. (ages 6+ years old) – CEPS Vance-Toner Field House

MY GYM Children’s Fitness Centre
MY GYM Children’s Fitness Center will be on site offering games and activities. (Parent participation is required).
1 p.m. - 4 p.m. (ages 1-6 years old) – CEPS Gymnasium

RBC Learn to Play Zone
Obstacle course
1 p.m. - 4 p.m. (ages 7-12 years old) – CEPS Gymnasium

Proper footwear and clothing are required to participate in all activities. All participants will receive special coupons to attend a Université de Moncton sporting event, a Moncton Miracles basketball game and a Moncton Wildcats game.
