Road closures for weekend events

MONCTON – The City of Moncton wishes to advise the motoring public of delays or detours in the following areas to accommodate events happening in Moncton this weekend.

Cat’s Cup Road Hockey Challenge – Saturday, September 19
CLOSURE 1: Main Street from Lutz Street to Alma Street will be closed from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 19.

CLOSURE 2: Westmorland Street, from Main Street up to and including the Moncton Market parking lot will be closed from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 19.

Midland Pulling for the United Way – Saturday, September 19
Main Street, from Alma Street to Mechanic Street will be closed from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 19.

APEGNB Soapbox Derby – Sunday, September 20
St. George Boulevard from Centennial Drive to Milner Drive will be closed from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 20. There will be a controlled closure on Dickson Boulevard, between Bessborough Avenue and St. George Boulevard to allow for traffic circulation.

The City is asking motorists to use alternate routes when at all possible, and apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause, but also encourages travellers to check out the events.
