Single family structure fire on Main Street

MONCTON – The Moncton Fire Department responded to 1707 Main Street a single family structure fire at 10 a.m. this morning. Three fire trucks, a rescue and a chief officer staffed with 14 firefighters responded. Upon arrival, smoke was showing from the front door and one occupant was seriously injured from burns and smoke inhalation. He was cared for at the scene by firefighters and paramedics, and transported to the Moncton Hospital. The fire was quickly brought under control by the firefighters. The fire caused extensive damage to the interior of the house.
Fire Investigator determined that the fire was caused by cooking and originated in the kitchen.
