Summer Recreation


MONCTON – The City of Moncton offers recreational opportunities for children, youth, adults and seniors all year round. June is Recreation and Parks month and the City would like to take this opportunity to remind residents of all the parks, trails and activities available during the summer. There is something for everyone, so get outside and have fun! 

in motion Days
Come find staff from the Parks and Leisure department (from 11 am – 1 pm), get some free swag and some fun deals! Find them at Centennial Park on July 24 and August 7 and Mapleton Park on July 10 and August 21.

Regional Parks
The four regional parks are situated in each corner of the city adorned with beautiful greenery, wildlife and trails for walking, biking and running. Get back to nature and discover what’s waiting for you in Mapleton Park, Irishtown Nature Park, Centennial Park and Riverfront Park! (park maps available on moncton.ca)

Playgrounds
There are 50 playgrounds in total located all over the city and 18 of those have water features to cool down on hot days! Find the playground locator map on moncton.ca and discover new places to play this summer! 

Water Fun and Swimming
Kiwanis Centennial Beach and all splash pads will open for the summer as of Saturday, June 25. 
Go swimming indoors at the YMCA of Greater Moncton for only 2$ on Sundays from 2:30 – 4:30 pm and Monday to Friday from 2 – 3 pm. 

Walking Tracks
The Moncton Stadium, located on the Université de Moncton campus, has a “Walking and Running Club” open Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm for the general public. 
The Crossman Community Centre – Kay Arena’s track is open Sunday to Thursday from 9 am - 10 pm and Friday and Saturday from 9 am – 5 pm, so come for a walk, run or roll!
