Tree removal required on Main Street

June 3, 2014

MONCTON – The City of Moncton wishes to advise residents that within the next week, crews will be cutting two trees located on Main Street.

“We have been monitoring these trees declining health over the past few years, and unfortunately the trees or now deceased. This now poses a safety hazard due to its high potential for limb failure in close proximity to the sidewalk and street,” explained Dan Hicks, Supervisor of Parks and Grounds for the City of Moncton.

The two trees being cut will be replaced, and a dozen other trees will be planted in the downtown area.

The City of Moncton values its natural assets and is committed to protecting the municipality’s environment and green spaces.
