MONCTON – The City of Moncton wishes to advise residents of Moncton, Dieppe and Riverview that Utility crews have identified a leaking joint on the Turtle Creek Transmission Line #2 near the Byron Dobson Arena in Riverview.

In order to facilitate the repairs, a portion of this major supply line has been shut down. During the repairs, the remaining transmission line will be flowing more water than normal. As a result, customers in the Tri-Community could experience reduced water pressure and discolouration. The water is not contaminated and poses no health risks; however, residents should refrain from washing clothes if any discoloured water is noticeable as this could stain light-coloured clothing. Residents are also asked to reduce water consumption where possible.

Repair and re-commissioning of the line could take up to a week. Crews are monitoring the situation closely and will provide updates as needed.

The City apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause, and appreciates the patience and cooperation of customers/residents.
