“Meet the Artists” at the Moncton Gallery: Senior High School Students’ Art Exhibit

March 11, 2015

MONCTON – The City of Moncton invites members of the public to a “meet the artists” reception on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Moncton City Hall.

Mayor George LeBlanc hosts this reception to celebrate the March art exhibit in the Moncton Gallery by high school seniors of Greater Moncton. Students whose artworks are on display at the gallery will be at the reception to meet with the public and talk about their art.

The exhibit, coordinated by Bernice MacNaughton High School visual arts teacher, David Brooks, showcases the artworks of high school students from the Greater Moncton area who are enrolled in their school’s visual arts program.

“This is a great annual event and helps promote the importance of youth participation in the arts. Every year, I’m completely awestruck by the talent of these students,” said Moncton Mayor George LeBlanc. “The City of Moncton is proud to host this exhibit in the Moncton Gallery and I encourage everyone to see for themselves the amazing artistic ability of our local youth.”

One of the Gallery’s most popular shows, the High School Students’ Art Exhibit draws in a large number of visitors every year. The Moncton Gallery is located in the lobby of City Hall at 655 Main Street and is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The art exhibit by Senior High School Students is on display from March 9 to April 1, 2015.
