"The 34 Wonders of the World” – an exhibition to discover at the Magnetic Hill Zoo

July 14, 2015

MONCTON – The City of Moncton is pleased to collaborate with the Consulate General of France in the Atlantic Provinces to present the photographic exhibition “The 34 Wonders of the World.” The outdoor exhibition will be on display at the Magnetic Hill Zoo until September 30, 2015. Admission is free; the exhibition is displayed on the fence along the road leading to the Zoo.

The bilingual exhibition of 34 photo posters is designed by Terre Sauvage magazine, the Critical Ecosystems Partnership Fund and the Nature Photo Library (NPL), in partnership with AFD, MAEDI and LPO France. The exhibition is photo-focused and gives visitors a tour of 34 hot spots around the world and an overview of actions carried out in the field. The photos are provided by the British agency NPL, which brings together the best nature photographs on the planet and uses a high-quality background image on each hot spot.

The objective of this exhibition is to raise public awareness and to appeal to the public about threats to biodiversity and about the actions implemented worldwide to protect it.

“We are very pleased with this collaboration and especially to offer the people of Moncton this fantastic outdoor photographic exhibition, not to mention the possibility of also displaying photographic works to citizens in an outdoor gallery environment—a first for our city!” says Paulette Thériault, City of Moncton Ward 1 councillor, enthusiastically.

“The French Consulate General has been in Moncton for 51 years now and our ties with the City continue to grow. This initiative is very important for France as we head toward the (CdP/Cop21) Climate Change Conference that will be held in Paris in December. I hope – in fact – I know that this exhibit will be a big success.” Vincent Hommeril - Consul General of the Atlantic Provinces.
