Celebrate Acadian Day in the heart of downtown Moncton! The Acadie Rock Festival will feature a traditional Tintamarre (noise parade), the official August 15 free outdoor concert, a special show on August 14th, in honour of Moncton’s 125th anniversary, the popular poetry night, kids' activities and concerts and much more!

Street Closure

From 6 p.m. on Friday August 14 to 1 a.m. on Saturday August 15 and again from 6 p.m. on Saturday August 15 to 1 a.m. on Sunday August 16, the eastbound lane of Assomption Boulevard from Westmorland Street to Mechanic Street will be close, leaving the westbound lane and the intersections of Assomption/Westmorland and Assomption/Mechanic open to traffic.

Noise By-Law Exemption: 

There will be a Noise By-Law exemption from 11 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Saturday August 15 and Sunday August 16 at the Riverfront Park on Assomption Boulevard for the evening concerts

Parade (Tintamarre)

From 5:45 p.m. until approximately 6:45 p.m., progressive closure of the following parade route 

  • Leave Aberdeen Cultural Centre Park using southeast corner of park onto Botsford Street (at St. George Street intersection);
  • Down Botsford Street;
  • Turn right onto Main Street;
  • Turn left onto Westmorland Street;
  • At very end of Westmorland, enter Riverfront Parking Lot (location of event).
  • The street will be reopened gradually as the parade progresses.
