The City of Moncton’s event calendar continues to grow each year welcoming local festivals, community events, national initiatives, major sporting competitions and sold-out concerts. Moncton is quickly becoming the hub for entertainment in Atlantic Canada as year after year, the city hosts the best and the brightest!
From Canada Day celebrations, which closes all of downtown Moncton for a street party for over 15,000 people, to Canada’s largest auto event, the Atlantic Nationals Automotive Extravaganza; from intimate concerts held in the city’s many parks as part of the Acoustica series to major concerts on the Riverfront in celebration of August 15 with Acadie Rock; from global celebrations with the Mosaïq Multicultural Festival to the roar of the Atlanticade Motorcycle Festival in partnership with the delicious draw of the Rotary RibFest.
And, the excitement doesn’t stop there! Moncton has successfully hosted some of the world’s most prominent events, including the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™, the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014, the 2010 IAAF World Junior Track and Field Championships and the World Men’s Curling Championships in 2009. With state-of-the-art modern venues that have been tested on the world stage, and a multicultural community used to welcoming the world, Moncton truly is a city that punches above its weight.
Acoustica: Call to artists
The City of Moncton is currently receiving applications from local performing artists who wish to be considered for the 2017 Acoustica series. Performing artists are invited to submit their application to the 2017 series by filling out the following form: Acoustica Application.
The deadline for applications is March 6, 2017.
