“Don't underestimate me, I've got patience” sings Amy Stone with her unmistakable voice, amongst a swirl of lush reverberated guitar and piano tones. Patience is a virtue the songstress wears on her sleeve as her band was formed member by member over the past 4 years. Beginning as a recording project to showcase Stone’s original songs, the necessity of a live band formed from the recorded tracks taking life as the sessions progressed.

Stone produced her first demos with The Motorleague Don Levandier. “Her songs are about the most gut-wrenchingly sincere things I’ve ever heard” says Levandier. “We’ve started and re-started, and re-re-started that recording project more times than I can recall and there’s a lot of pain there, which is what makes it so good!”

The band formed one by one as former Ditchpigs drummer Michel Boudreau joined, followed months later by singer-songwriter Phil Flowers, with each pulling the band in new directions. Most recently joined by Christine Gollan on keys, the band has settled into it’s groove waving its multi-genre and decade spanning influence with pride.

Shards of 90’s alt-rock, Americana singer-songwriter, alt-country tones, and even 50’s pop make their voices heard in Amy Stone & The Veneers, but at the heart of it all is Stone’s painstakingly honest and often refreshingly simplistic approach to songwriting. There are no song about life experiences not lived and no lived experiences hiding away from the spotlight. Much like the name implies, The Veneers are very much the glossy covering to Stone’s real pain, and that sincerity and undeniable honesty on stage has been taking listener’s by absolute surprise since their first show.
