Arts & Culture
Moncton boasts a varied and vibrant cultural scene. In addition to enhancing the quality of life for residents and offering unique experiences to visitors, the cultural sector is also a driving force for the economic development of our city as well as an integral part of our community's identity. In addition to the numerous festivals and events that take place in the city, Moncton is also home to a wide-ranging collection of fine art, many of which are part of the City of Moncton's Fine Arts Collection.
Moncton Cultural Plan
The City of Moncton is developing on a new Cultural Plan. The previous Cultural Plan (2011-2015) achieved a great deal. However, cultural development in Moncton to day faces many new challenges and opportunities. The new Plan will establish an updated guiding vision and long-term strategy to enrich the cultural life of our community. It will also define ways in which Moncton’s cultural assets can be leveraged to advance the City’s economic and broader community development agendas. The success of the Cultural Plan depends on strong community involvement. The Plan process offers a variety of ways for people to participate in the engagement process. Following an extensive public and stakeholder consultation exercise in the fall of 2015, a draft plan has been prepared for resident's input. The deadline to submit comments on the proposed recommendations in the 2016-2026 Moncton Cultural Plan is March 14, 2016. Feedback can be sent via email to email@example.com.
