Cultural Policy

Arts and Cultural Policy

Adopted in January 2000 and currently under review

Moncton, the second municipality in New Brunswick to adopt a cultural policy, recognizes that arts and culture play a key role in the quality of life of its citizens. Through its Arts and Cultural Policy and other initiatives, the City of Moncton strives to foster an environment that promotes creativity, the pursuit of excellence in cultural experiences, public access to those experiences and the preservation and enhancement of
its diverse cultural identities.

Policy Review

The City of Moncton is currently conducting a review of the Arts and Cultural Policy. The new policy will encompass the heritage component to its scope. The policy and plan will reflect the current needs of the arts, cultural and heritage sectors of our community. The review is expected to be conducted over the fall of 2010.
