2012 Spring Lineup
18th Century Toys (May 19)
Generations ago, toys were built to last! Come learn about toys our ancestors played with, try your hand at making replicas, and see where our imaginations take us!
Trinkets and Toys of 12th Century (May 26)
Have you ever heard of a scopperil? What about a Mummer’s play? Hundreds of years ago, well before Gameboys, computers, and the X-Box, our medieval European ancestors loved toys and games just as much as we do! But the middle ages are shrouded in mystery. They are even referred to as the ‘Dark Ages.” But it doesn’t have to be a mystery for you! Come and unearth the truth about medieval games and toys at the Thomas Williams House.
Summertime Herb Gardens (June 2)
The frost is gone and it's time to start planting! Come help us plant our tearoom herb garden, and plant your own herb garden to take home!
Bugs and Creepy Crawlers (June 9)
What is summer without bugs? The Thomas Williams House is being invaded! Come on our bug adventure, make your very own creepy crawlers pets and have a "buzzzzzzzing" good time!
Alice in Wonderland (June 16)
Calling all Alices! It's time for a wonderfully fun adventure! Jump down the rabbit's hole with us as we take a journey to imagination land.
Victorian Children’s Books (June 23)
Do you have a favourite bedtime story? What about a favourite picture book? The Victorian Era saw the rise of children’s literature, from fairy tales to chapter books and pirate lore to animal illustrations. Treasure Island, The Grimm Fairy Tales, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, and Anne of Green Gables are just a few of the magical stories to come out of Victorian England and Canada. Come to the Thomas William’s House to learn all about children’s literature and make a picture storybook of your very own!
Become a Toymaker (June 27 & June 30)
There is an interesting story behind every toy and game. Sometimes the story is as entertaining as the toy itself! Come become your very own toy inventor at the Thomas Williams House during this fun workshop!
