Block Party
The Block Party Program is an initiative designed to assist community groups to organize neighbourhood get-togethers with minimal individual responsibilities.
To qualify for the services for a block party, a group must:
- Be a registered neighbourhood group with Parks & Leisure Services;
- Plan a family event that is open to the neighbourhood at large, in a Moncton playground or park.
Assistance available:
- Help with promoting the event (i.e. posters and flyers printed for distribution by the neighborhood group in the neighbourhood);
- Provision of required picnic tables and garbage cans for the event.
What must the neighbourhood group do?
- Decide on the best date and time for your neighbourhood;
- Fill out the application form on moncton.ca, a minimum of two weeks before the event (note: please include a rain date);
- Plan the activities for the event (i.e. meet and greet);
- Arrange for food and refreshments (i.e. every family brings a picnic lunch, or some families bring a barbecue for everyone cooks their own food);
- Have fun!
