SMILE Program

S.M.I.L.E. is a unique community service program offered to children between the ages of 5 and 13 with special needs. The program is organized by students from the School of Nursing and School of Kinesiology and Recreation at the Université de Moncton.

The program seeks to improve the “total development” of children with special needs by enhancing vital physical and motor skills and patterns. In addition, the program stresses the improvement of self-esteem by strengthening the emotional-social aspects of a child’s personality through success at play.

Beginning on Monday, January 23, 2012, the 10 week program will take place every Monday at the CEPS on the Université de Moncton campus from 5 pm to 7 pm. There is a registration fee of $15 and submissions are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.  Submissions will be accepted until Friday, December 9, 2011 at the City of Moncton Operations Centre, 100 Worthington Avenue.
