The City of Moncton social media channels are intended for informational purposes only. They are monitored during business hours, Monday to Friday.

The Communications Department is responsible for maintaining corporate pages to ensure that all posted comments are constructive and suitable for all readers while allowing a forum to respect a range of opinions and points of view.

Please be aware that when engaging with the City of Moncton through social media, you are agreeing to adhere to the terms of use as follows:

  • While this is an open forum, comments must be kept clean and appropriate. Inappropriate comments are subject to
    deletion by the administrator of the account(s). If you do not comply with the posting guidelines, your message may
    be removed. Not all comments may receive a response.
     
  • We do not allow graphic, obscene or sexually explicit comments or submissions nor do we allow comments that are abusive, threatening, hateful, or intended to defame anyone or any organization or comments that suggest or encourage illegal activity.
     
  • Content that promotes, fosters or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender,
    language, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability, gender identity or sexual orientation will not be tolerated.
     
  • Social media channels are not monitored 24/7 and therefore, are not the appropriate forum to report emergency or time-sensitive issues.
     
  • Content posted by persons whose profile picture or avatar, user name, or e-mail address contains any of the aforementioned prohibited conduct will not be tolerated.
     
  • Content that is unrelated to the post and/or discussion is also subject to deletion.
     
  • We do not allow solicitations or advertisements. This includes promotion or endorsement of any financial, commercial, or non-governmental agency. Similarly, we do not allow attempts to defame or defraud any organization or agency.
     
  • We do not allow information intended to compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems.
     
  • You participate at your own risk, taking personal responsibility for your comments, your user name, and any information provided. By engaging on the social media pages, you are also agreeing that violations of the above points by other users may occur.
     
  • All comments are subject to public records law. Pursuant to provincial legislation, matters on this page are of public
    record. If you do not wish to have your name or posting released in potential public-record requests (RTIPPA), do
    not engage with the page.
