The City of Moncton is excited to announce the return of its environmental festival on Saturday, June 8. The public is invited to celebrate the end of Canadian Environment Week at EnviroFest, taking place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Centennial Park.

The festival is designed around six categories: moving, housing, eating, buying, playing, and sorting. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with interactive stations and exhibitors, learn about the environmental impacts of their daily choices, and discover practical actions and strategies to reduce their carbon footprint across each category.

Among the fresh additions this year, attendees can look forward to a bike rodeo, a repair café hosted by RepairVerse, and educational activities for kids in the playground area. The event will also include live music by Valérie Dugas-Bouchard, Clinton Fernandes, Samuel Bourgeois, Jaclyn Reinhart, and Shakedown Combo.

In addition to these new features, the festival will also showcase popular EnviroFest activities such as e-bike test drives, tacos from Guacamole’s low-carbon taco bar, an electric vehicle showcase, complimentary bike tune-ups, and more.

"We are thrilled to host the second edition of EnviroFest," says Mayor Dawn Arnold. "This festival is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to learn and be inspired to take concrete steps towards a more sustainable future. Our collective aim of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 requires community-driven initiatives, and EnviroFest serves as a motivator for meaningful change."

Residents are encouraged to embrace eco-friendly transportation options such as carpooling, biking, or walking to Centennial Park. Codiac Transpo will provide complimentary transit service on June 8 and a supervised bike parking area will facilitate easy access for attendees.

The City of Moncton would like to thank eDrive Powersports for their generous support as the Presenting Sponsor of the Moving category.

More information about the festival will be available in the coming weeks.
