Moncton's Whoa Canada! Celebrations to be Headlined by Matt Mays and Beauxmont 2025-05-05

The City of Moncton is thrilled to announce that the headliners for this year's Whoa Canada! celebrations, presented by J.D. Irving, Limited, will be none other than Canadian indie rock artist Matt Mays and his band and Acadian country-rock band Beauxmont.
Matt Mays is a Canadian indie rock artist with a career spanning over two decades. Joined by his longtime band, he’s known for energetic performances and a sound that blends rock, folk, and alternative influences. With a dedicated fanbase across the country, his catalogue includes standout tracks like Cocaine Cowgirl, Take It On Faith, and Faint of Heart. A Juno Award winner for Rock Album of the Year, Mays brings raw vocals, strong songwriting, and a commanding stage presence to every show.
Beauxmont stands out for their ability to revitalize traditional Acadian music while staying true to their roots. The six-piece band features talented musicians from across New Brunswick, each bringing diverse influences and a strong connection to Louisiana-inspired sounds. With vocals, accordion, fiddle, guitars, and drums, Beauxmont delivers high-energy performances that blend tradition with a modern edge. Their latest release, Volume 2, is quickly cementing their reputation as the next generation of Acadian music. Expect infectious rhythms, memorable melodies, and a show that keeps the good times rolling all evening long.
“We’re excited to welcome Beauxmont and Matt Mays and his band to the Whoa Canada! stage this year,” says Chad Gautreau, Manager of Events & Festivals. “Their unique sounds and strong East Coast roots will bring a vibrant energy to our celebrations and create a night of music that truly reflects the spirit of our community.”
The Whoa Canada! festivities will take place on July 1 at Riverfront Park in downtown Moncton. In addition to the music, there will be food vendors, family activities, and a tri-community fireworks display to cap off the evening. The full schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
