The Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) is made up of volunteers appointed by Moncton City Council. The PAC advises Council on planning-related matters and is the approving authority for variances, conditional use applications, and applications for similar and compatible uses.

Virtual PAC meetings
Council Chambers at Moncton City Hall will be undergoing renovations this summer. Planning Advisory Committee meetings will be held virtually until renovations are complete. To speak at a PAC meeting on any regular PAC application, please contact the Planner identified in the public notice to be added to the list. PAC meetingsRegular PAC meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month, except for the month of December when the meeting is held on the third Wednesday.
Meetings take place in Council Chambers at Moncton City Hall unless otherwise noted.

Current Applications
Some development applications require Planning Advisory Committee approval.
Public notice of these applications is posted to this page and mailed to property owners within a 60-metre radius of the property named in the application.
The Committee meets once per month to consider applications. All PAC meetings are open to the public. You may submit written comments ahead of time and/or speak on variances and conditional use applications on which the PAC has approval authority.
224 Killam Drive

APPLICATION DETAILS
The Islamic Society of New Brunswick is planning on constructing a new mosque and community center at 224 Killam Drive (PID 70278312).
To accommodate the proposed development, Administration is recommending the property be rezoned to Suburban Commercial (SC) and that the land use designation be amended to Mixed Use Centers and Corridors (MUC).

PUBLIC HEARING
A public hearing to consider written objections to the proposed changes will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 4 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall, 655 Main Street, Moncton, NB.
All members of the public are welcome to attend and express their views during the public hearing on Monday, November 18, 2024.

20 Sycamore Drive
APPLICATION DETAILS
Variance application to increase the area and width of a driveway for an existing single-unit dwelling located at 20 Sycamore Drive.
The property is zoned R2 (Two Unit Dwelling) and requires the following applications:
- Variance Application
- To increase the width of the driveway entrance from 7.6m to 10.77m; and
- To increase the area of the driveway from 40% to 50.5%.

An application for a Ruling of Compatibility that the proposed after-school daycare program of 10 children or less in a church located at 106 Mount Royal Boulevard (PID 70466784) which is not permitted in the R2 zone is similar to a home daycare which is permitted in the R2 Zone.
