Planning Advisory Committee

The Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) is made up of volunteers appointed by Moncton City Council. The PAC advises Council on planning-related matters and is the approving authority for variances, conditional use applications, and applications for similar and compatible uses.

Regular PAC meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month, except for the month of December when the meeting is held on the third Wednesday. 

Meetings take place in Council Chambers at Moncton City Hall unless otherwise noted.

Current Applications

Some development applications require Planning Advisory Committee approval. 

Public notice of these applications is posted to this page and mailed to property owners within a 60-metre radius of the property named in the application. 

The Committee meets once per month to consider applications. All PAC meetings are open to the public. You may submit written comments ahead of time and/or speak on variances and conditional use applications on which the PAC has approval authority. 

APPLICATION DETAILS

The City of Moncton has received a request for a variance for property located at 10 Marriott Drive to reduce the front and side yard setbacks, to reduce the front and side yard setbacks, to reduce the lot frontage, and to allow a driveway within 3m of a property line. The variances will accommodate a new multiple-unit residential development consisting of two 67-unit buildings and one 60-unit building, for a total of 194 units. 

The property is zoned HC (Highway Commercial Zone).

APPLICATION DETAILS

The City of Moncton has received a request for a variance for property located at 414 Gorge Road, to increase the size of an accessory building from 85 square metres to 205 square metres (PIDs 01112242, 70419411, and 01112259).

The property is zoned R2 (Two Unit Dwelling Zone).

APPLICATION DETAILS

Hardell Holdings Inc. is proposing to develop a Mixed-Use Residential Development off Elmwood Drive, in the mid 900 block of Elmwood Drive, south of the Irishtown Nature Park. The proposed subdivision will create four public streets, one future street, five lots for residential development, one lot to accommodate an existing single-family home, a lot for storm water management and Land for Public Purposes.

APPLICATION DETAILS

The City of Moncton requires land from TG 112 & 114 Murphy Ltd. and DAS Enterprises Ltd. to accommodate the construction of additional street widening along Mountain Road for the future Worthington Street intersection. The Tentative Plan submitted identifies the three parcels to be acquired to become part of Mountain Road containing a combined area of an area of 58 sq. meters.

APPLICATION DETAILS

The purpose of the proposed Zoning By-law amendment, being By-law Z-222.48, is to rezone property at 480 Ryan Street (PID 00789057) from R2 to R3 and to repeal the existing Conditional Zoning Agreement at 528 Ryan Street (PID 70453576) and replace it with a new Agreement for the development.

The rezoning will accommodate three, four-storey apartment buildings, each building will provide 63 units for a total of 189 units between all three buildings.

APPLICATION DETAILS

Accel Property Group is proposing to construct two rowhouse dwellings at 145 East Street (PID 011168913). The project will consist of 12 residential units.

To accommodate the proposed development, Administration is recommending the property be rezoned from R2 (Two Unit Dwelling) to RM (Residential Mix).
