Planning Advisory Committee

The Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) is made up of volunteers appointed by Moncton City Council. The PAC advises Council on planning-related matters and is the approving authority for variances, conditional use applications, and applications for similar and compatible uses.

Regular PAC meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month, except for the month of December when the meeting is held on the third Wednesday. 

Meetings take place in Council Chambers at Moncton City Hall unless otherwise noted.

Current Applications

Some development applications require Planning Advisory Committee approval. 

Public notice of these applications is posted to this page and mailed to property owners within a 60-metre radius of the property named in the application. 

The Committee meets once per month to consider applications. All PAC meetings are open to the public. You may submit written comments ahead of time and/or speak on variances and conditional use applications on which the PAC has approval authority. 

APPLICATION DETAILS

The City of Moncton has received a conditional use application for an off-site parking lot with 120 spaces at 135 Albert Street, Moncton (PID 70368576) to serve as overflow parking for the new Royal Canadian Mounted Police Station that is currently under construction on the adjacent property.

APPLICATION DETAILS

The City of Moncton has received applications requests for conditional use and variance to construct a 4-storey assisted living facility, containing 18 residential units.

To accommodate this development, the following variances are required:

  • To not provide balconies for residential units above the ground floor; 
  • To reduce the rear yard setback from 6.0 metres to 2.0 metres.

APPLICATION DETAILS

Application to convert an existing building located at 160 Millennium Boulevard PID 00729103 into a day care centre.

The property is zoned IP (Industrial Park Zone) and requires the following applications:

  1. Conditional use application: to permit a daycare center in an Industrial Park Zone (IP).
