Planning Advisory Committee

The Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) is made up of volunteers appointed by Moncton City Council. The PAC advises Council on planning-related matters and is the approving authority for variances, conditional use applications, and applications for similar and compatible uses.

Regular PAC meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month, except for the month of December when the meeting is held on the third Wednesday. 

Meetings take place in Council Chambers at Moncton City Hall unless otherwise noted.

Current Applications

Some development applications require Planning Advisory Committee approval. 

Public notice of these applications is posted to this page and mailed to property owners within a 60-metre radius of the property named in the application. 

The Committee meets once per month to consider applications. All PAC meetings are open to the public. You may submit written comments ahead of time and/or speak on variances and conditional use applications on which the PAC has approval authority. 

APPLICATION DETAILS

760478 NB INC. is proposing to develop a Residential Subdivision on the North side of Charles Lutes Road, in the Rural Estates Drive area.

The proposed subdivision will extend Pleasantview Street eastward and will create six new public streets, Land for Public Purposes, 108 lots for future development and a lot for a Storm Water Detention Pond.

APPLICATION DETAILS

The purpose of the proposed Zoning By-law amendment, being By-law Z-222.51, is to rezone property on 215 McLaughlin Drive (PID 00778456) and 138 Redmond Street (PID 00778449) from R3 (Multiple Unit Dwelling) to NC (Neighbourhood Convenience).

The rezoning is intended to accommodate a specialty grocery store.

PUBLIC HEARING

A public hearing to consider written objections to the proposed amendment will be held on Octobr 6, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 655 Main Street, Moncton, NB.

Any person who wishes to speak for or against the written objections is entitled to be heard at the public hearing.

APPLICATION DETAILS

The purpose of the proposed Zoning By-law amendment, being By-law Z-222.52, is to rezone property on Grant Street (PID 70505730) from R2 (Two-Unit Dwelling) to P1 (Community Use Zone).   

The rezoning will accommodate the development of a purpose-built daycare facility.
