Ward 1

Mike Gaudet is serving his first term on Moncton City Council. He was elected in 2026.

Gaudet is a graduate of the Atlantic Police Academy. He served on the Shediac and Chatham police forces before joining the RCMP. He served with Codiac RCMP from 2004 to 2018, working both in community policing and as special events and emergency measures coordinator. Following his retirement, he worked as a court liaison and in supporting administrative operations for Codiac RCMP. He received the J Division Commander’s Commendation for Bravery in 2007.

A dedicated volunteer, Gaudet has given his time to support local festivals and has volunteered for major events like the 2023 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship, the 2024 QMJHL Draft, and Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada. He has also volunteered with the Moncton Wildcats, Soccer Canada, Moncton Headstart, and the Salvation Army’s annual Christmas Kettle Campaign. Since 2023 he and his golden retriever, Molly, have regularly visited schools and nursing homes as part of the St. John Ambulance Dog Therapy Program.

Gaudet is focused on advocating for the residents of Ward 1. He would like to build a safer and stronger Moncton and promote community pride by engaging residents and business owners to help increase public safety in our neighbourhoods.
