Greater Moncton YMCA

Prime Time AquaFitness: 
In partnership with the City of Moncton, Prime Time Aqua Fitness is offered to non-members for $3 every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.  Don’t miss this full body workout in the water!
Membership or day pass required for other Aquafit sessions. 

Public Swims:
In Partnership with the City of Moncton, public swims are offered to non-members for $3 every Friday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and every Sunday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. 

Community Garden Program:
The YMCA Community Garden is designed to meet the needs of everyone in the community. The garden is divided up into 90 plots and 7 raised beds for individuals with mobility challenges. The garden also boasts apple trees, raspberry and blueberry patches, and currant bushes.

The Greater Moncton YMCA offers several senior-friendly activities throughout the week, including chair yoga, Prime Time fitness classes, Zumba, POUND, Line Dancing, drop-in pickleball, Aqua jog, Aqua Zumba, lane swimming, open therapy swim, and more.

YMCA Moncton North

Walking Track: 
The Greater Moncton YMCA, North End location, offers free access to their indoor walking track 7 days a week. 

The 100m indoor track is open to the public at no charge. The track has comfortable cushion flooring, lots of natural lighting, and a built-in incline/decline slope. Plenty of seating throughout the track area provides opportunities to relax, connect with friends, or plug-in to get some work done. Located on the second floor there’s a stairwell, elevator, and even an indoor slide to access or depart from the track area.

Saturday and Sunday: 8:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.

The Moncton Public Library offers a variety of free senior-friendly programs.  

Senior Socials: 
Drop by the library on the first Wednesday of every month from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for light refreshments, conversation and activities. No registration is required.  

Tech & Connect: 
Whether you're curious about tablets, social media, or online resources, the library's friendly, tech-savvy staff are ready to help. This program for older adults is offered by appointment on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Bring your questions and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere where you can learn, explore, and connect with our team. Registration is required.   

Knitting Club: 
Members gather on the first Sunday of each month from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. to work on their current fiber arts projects (crochet, knit, macramé) and enjoy the company of others at the library. Some materials will be provided for small projects or sample swatches. Light refreshments and snacks will be available. All are welcome to join, and no registration is required.

The mission of the Tantramar Seniors College is to further the intellectual and cultural interests of its members in an enjoyable learning atmosphere. Seniors aged 50 and over can take courses. Previous university or college experience is not needed. Courses are delivered in English.

The college works on a membership basis to be paid at the beginning of the fall, winter or spring term and runs for three consecutive terms. 

In the Moncton (Codiac) region, courses are offered at the Crossman Community Centre.

The Centennial Lawn Bowling Club is nestled within Moncton’s Centennial Park at 811 St. George Street. This outdoor recreational facility boasts two playing surfaces and schedules for players of all levels.

 This low-impact sport can be played by anyone. Much like curling, strategy and skill are bigger factors than physical strength. All equipment is provided and free instruction is available. Flat shoes are the only requirement to play this fun sport.

Walking Soccer
Seniors Soccer is designed to offer a fun and inclusive environment for seniors to stay physically active. With modified gameplay to accommodate varying fitness levels, participants can enjoy a great cardiovascular workout, improve balance and coordination, and enhance muscle strength. Soccer is not only a physical activity but also a fantastic way to engage socially and mentally.

Seniors Lawn Bowling 
Seniors Lawn Bowling offers a relaxing yet engaging way for seniors to stay active. This low-impact sport focuses on improving precision, coordination, and balance. Lawn Bowling is perfect for seniors looking for a slower-paced, enjoyable activity that also provides the chance to socialize and enjoy a supportive community atmosphere.
