City of Moncton Invites Residents to Identify “Big Moves” in Phase 3 of Municipal Plan Review

Moncton residents are being called on to help define the city’s next chapter as Phase 3 of the Municipal Plan Review gets underway. This process ensures the city’s growth aligns with community priorities, combining data, expert analysis, and local input to guide the city’s future.

Municipal Plan Review Phases

  • Phase 1 – Exploring: Launched in June 2025, this phase engaged residents and stakeholders to identify key issues and opportunities.
  • Phase 2 – Visioning: Residents shared what they value about Moncton and ideas for improvement, while data on demographics and growth trends helped shape draft vision and objectives.
  • Phase 3 – Developing (Current Phase): Residents are now invited to help identify the “Big Moves”: transformative actions in areas like housing, transportation, complete communities, and parks and open spaces.
  • Looking Ahead: Phases 4 to 6, planned for 2026, will refine the draft Municipal Plan and Zoning By-Law toward final adoption, with continued opportunities for community input along the way.

Residents are invited to share their thoughts and ideas for the new Municipal Plan by participating in one of the many engagement opportunities happening throughout November:
